Privacy.

Cecily’s programs keep your information on your own devices and in your own iCloud. We don’t collect it, we can’t see it, and we never sell it.

What we collect

Nothing. The programs have no accounts, analytics, ads or tracking, and none of your information is ever sent to us.

Where your information lives

On your Mac, iPhone or iPad. If you turn on iCloud sync, a copy is kept in your own iCloud account, on Apple’s servers, so your devices stay up to date. It’s held under your Apple Account, under Apple’s privacy policy, and we can’t see it.

Encryption

Everything Cecily keeps in iCloud is encrypted on its way there and on Apple’s servers. Cecily Cards and Cecily Tasks go further: what you write is encrypted with a key from your iCloud Keychain before it’s stored. Cecily Budget uses iCloud’s standard encryption.

Your bank

Cecily never asks for your banking password and never connects to your bank. Cecily Cards reads the statement files you download yourself, and Cecily Budget works from the balances you type in.

Sharing

When you share a household or a ledger, the people you invite can see and change everything in it.

Permissions

Cecily asks before it uses your calendars, reminders, contacts, camera or notifications, and uses them only on your device. When you add a web link to Cecily Tasks, it fetches that page’s title from the website.

Deleting your information

Delete anything in the program, and it’s deleted from your other devices and iCloud too. Deleting a program from an iPhone or iPad removes what it kept there.

This website

This website doesn’t use cookies or analytics, and it never asks for your name or email address.
